Retina is dedicated to the design, realisation and management of infrastructures for the for the production of biomethane from livestock manure and other biomass of agricultural origin of livestock manure. Retina valorises every by-product of the process, such as biogenic CO2, which is liquefied and marketed, and digestate, which is used to produce soil conditioner for the biological fertilisation of soils.
Retina's objectives
Establish an Italian infrastructure reference for the production of biomethane, biogenic CO2 and organic fertiliser.
Transforming livestock manure and agricultural by-products into clean energy, reducing greenhouse gases and nitrates in groundwater.
Restoring natural nourishment to the earth and contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Produce in an environmentally and economically sustainable manner, supporting the objectives of the NRP for future generations.
Prioritise areas with a high density of livestock farms, better managing waste disposal and environmental impact.

The Retina team selected the areas in which to build the plants by assessing the potential for biomass collection, favouring areas with a high density of livestock and agricultural and agri-food production with a high impact from processing waste.

The Retina project will participate in the best use of PNRR resources, participating in the real creation of value for today's youth and tomorrow's families.
